Our Classrooms

Our Toddler through Preschool and Pre-K program is developmentally based, meaning that new concepts and activities are introduced sequentially as the child becomes capable of grasping their meaning. A loving, nurturing environment is one where each child can truly grow to their own potential at their own pace, which is what we strive to provide.

Little Foots

Our 2 year old program is the foundation here at Small World. In this classroom, each child is empowered to learn as they grow both physically and developmentally. We tackle the basics -- colors, shapes, numbers, scissor skills, classroom behavior, and most of all, we have FUN along the way!

It's amazing to see the strides made at the end of each school year. By the time they "graduate" from this classroom, they are ready to take on tasks that require independence, self-assuredness, and critical thinking skills.

Grovers

Our 3-4 year old program introduces slightly more challenging concepts in the classroom. They begin the year reviewing concepts from their previous group, and then blast off into writing/reading alphabets, social studies and science units, and even introductory mathematics.

Additionally, we work on skills like communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution, making sure our students know their voice and words are impactful in the little world they live in. It is truly rewarding to see the children work out their differences and move forward together.

Big Birds

Our 4-5 year old Pre-K program is arguably one of the strongest on the island. The elementary schools that serve our area regularly communicate to us that the kids from our program enter kindergarten very well rounded and thrive in their classrooms, confidently knowing the concepts introduced throughout the school year.

We begin the year reviewing concepts from the year prior, and finish off the year writing complete sentences, reading basic books, solving math problems, and more! Socially, they thrive at this age and we encourage them to try new experiences and explore beyond their comfort zone. When our students leave us, they are confident in who they are and what they can do. It is always bittersweet to say goodbye to our students, and we take a lot of pride in how far each of them have come on their journey with us.
